Element tier list
Six elements, one rock-paper-scissors rule⦠and yet they aren't equal. We had the engine replay every element-versus-element duel and counted who actually wins.
Rates measured on the arena engine, at equal stats, level 16, 150 fights per side.
Best measured attacker: β οΈ Poison (73.7 % wins on average). The one that struggles most: πͺ¨ Earth (26.6 %). The rule chart is symmetric β each element beats one other β but the kits are not.
Element ranking
Average win rate of each element when it is the one attacking, across every defender. The taller the bar, the more often that element wins, whoever it faces.
| Rank | Element | Wins on attack | Its best counter |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | β οΈ Poison | 73.7 % | βοΈ Ice (85.3 %) |
| 2 | π Shadow | 71.2 % | β οΈ Poison (99.7 %) |
| 3 | π₯ Fire | 51.7 % | π Shadow (100 %) |
| 4 | βοΈ Ice | 41.9 % | β‘ Lightning (99 %) |
| 5 | β‘ Lightning | 34.9 % | πͺ¨ Earth (99.3 %) |
| 6 | πͺ¨ Earth | 26.6 % | π₯ Fire (100 %) |
Counter table
Each cell gives, in %, the attacker's (column) chance to beat the defender (row), averaged over both sides to cancel the first-strike edge. The diagonal is a mirror: 50%.

Element by element: how to beat it
For each element, what drops it fastest and what it holds up against. The best counter opens the codex simulator, already set to the matchup.
How to beat π₯ Fire
By the rules it has the edge over πͺ¨ Earth (Γ1.25) and takes π Shadow badly (Γ0.85). But the measured number folds in the ultimate, the statuses and the healing, not just the type.
Kit: π₯ Souffle ardent as signature, π Apocalypse as ultimate.
How to beat πͺ¨ Earth

How these numbers are computed
For each pair of elements we replay 150 fights one way then 150 the other β 300 per cell β and keep the attacker's share of wins.
Both dragons are level 16, same stats, same offensive doctrine: the only difference is the element and its kit. The engine is deterministic, so the same seeds replay the same fights β you can re-check every duel in the simulator.
At equal agility the engine gives the first strike to side A. Playing each duel from both sides cancels that bonus: that's why a mirror lands exactly on 50% and not 55%.
Frequently asked
What is the best element in Dragotchi?
In our measurements Poison tops the attackers and Earth brings up the rear. But no element wins everywhere: each has a counter that clearly dominates it, shown in the table above.
Is the element counter enough to win?
No. These rates hold at equal level and stats. In the arena a better-trained dragon, or one level above, flips a bad matchup. The right element tips the scale, it doesn't decide it.
Do these numbers change over time?
They are recomputed on every view, from the same file that resolves the real fights. If a kit is rebalanced the page shifts on its own β nothing is written by hand.
Read enough?
The simulator above runs on the exact engine of the arena. The one thing it cannot hand you is a dragon of your own.
